The causes of the slowdowns your users experience are often invisible: weak Wi-Fi coverage, overloaded access points, misconfigured network devices or problems on the internet line. Our network analysis service examines your wired and wireless network end to end and pinpoints exactly where the problem lies.
What we examine
- Network topology and device inventory
- Health of access points, switches, routers and firewalls
- Wi-Fi performance, channel usage and sources of interference
- Latency and bandwidth usage across LAN, WAN and internet links
Reporting
We turn the data we collect into clear reports summarised by location, user group and application. Our reports present the issues found and the recommended improvements in order of priority, so you can easily see which step will make the biggest difference.
What problems does a network analysis reveal?
The issues we find most often in network analysis work are conflicting channel settings, access points serving more users than they can handle, faulty VLAN and routing configurations, outdated firmware and insufficient internet capacity. Most of these problems are invisible from the outside, but users feel them as slowness, dropped connections and outages.
For wireless measurements, we use the technical specifications defined by the IEEE 802.11 working group, which develops the Wi-Fi standards, as our reference. On the wired side, we find bottlenecks by examining error counters, port utilisation and latency on switches and routers.
We do not need to take your network offline for the analysis; we measure during working hours, under real load, so the findings reflect what your users experience every day. If needed, we repeat measurements on different days and at different times to compare busy and quiet periods and pin down whether a problem is constant or occasional.
You can implement the recommendations with your own team or keep working with us during implementation. A follow-up measurement after the improvements shows together whether the changes had the expected effect.
An analysis is also a good starting point for checking whether you are getting the most out of your current infrastructure before making a new investment.
